Training & Experience

Who Massages the Massage Therapist?
This is a very good question. And very hard to answer as unfortunately this industry is not currently regulated :-( It is so important that complementary therapies need to be preformed by a professionally qualified therapist who understands the effect a treatment has on the body to ensure a safe working practice. So when I choose a massage therapist for myself, I ensure they have been professionally trained and are fully insured. And because I know the level of training the VTCT qualification offers such as class room face to face training, practical & physical assessments, in depth Anatomy Physiology & Pathology and many case studies, assignments & exams, I know their is no way a professional massage therapist can achieve this in a couple of days which unfortunately I have seen some massage therapists claim they are trained and fully insured, with only a few days training :-(

I am proud to say I have been professionally trained and qualified as a VTCT Advanced Massage Therapist. Which has taken many years of training. I'm fully insured and member of the Federation Of Holistic Therapists https://www.fht.org.uk/users/cowdrill219663
I've worked in the Holistic industry for 15 years.

VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust) qualifications are prestigious, Ofqual-regulated, and internationally recognized vocational certifications, primarily focusing on beauty therapy, hairdressing, complementary therapies. Which are designed for professionals.

I have trained and qualified in Advanced Massage, Body Massage for Complementary Therapies, Aromatherapy, Reflexology & Indian Head Massage, Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology and Health & Safety & Hygiene for Complementary Therapies, I am also trained in Holistic Facials and Hot Stone & Deep tissue Massage. I have also completed my training in Cancer Touch Therapy by the Made for Life Organics Foundation. I found this course interesting and knowing the training was developed in close association with oncologists, surgeons, MacMillan Cancer Support & cancer specialists it means I can offer treatments suitable for everyone as traditional treatments are not always suitable for clients with certain medical conditions. Also I had the opportunity to visit the made for life skin care manufacturing facilities where I could see the lovely organic skincare products being hand made.

My training qualifications are recognised by health schemes and client's may be able to claim for some treatments on their health plans

Relax Cabin has been set up as a clean safe environment for the holistic treatments where I ensure there is no cross contamination. I have always believed in not using chemicals and researching products that are kind to the skin. This all combined to produce a holistic service which offers relaxation, a time for a client to take some time out and completely relax. All the treatments at Relax cabin are unique from the cosyness of the log cabin its self, the training to ensure a safe service, my own research regarding treatments & products designed to help the body to relax, to the relaxing & uplifting music which is chosen specifically for each treatment and client.
